The most chill New Years EVER

The gf and I decided to not get drunk and fall down this New Year but to rent a cabin up in North NC and introduce 2010 nice and easy.

The Cabin:

The view:

Went to for a long hike at Deep Creek Falls w/ the mut. No dogs allowed? Didnt see that sign officer.

Heading up the Smokey Mountain Hwy over to Gatling TN. Gf took the good pics as I was thwarting the blizzard. Have them up tomorrow.

Took her over to the Biltmore. I highly recommend the rooftop tour.

My wife and I usually spend a few weekends a year in Western NC. I absolutely love that area, if I could find lucrative work up there I would move in a heartbeat. Some fantastic driving roads too.

If you haven't seen it before VRBOŽ is Vacation Rentals By Owner is a great place to find rental cabins.

Terry where is the cabin at? Is it a public rental? If so would love to get the link to it.

That is very nice. If it was up-state NY or New England there would be a foot of snow and 0 degrees outside!

NC Cabin Rentals in the Bryson City, Cherokee and Nantahala areas of the Smoky Mountains by Carolina Mountain Vacations; offical home page

Some cabins (like ours) even allow pets.

Yeah, this part of the country is beautiful. That view from the cabin is close to what I look at out my office window every day.

We rent cabins pretty often as it's a nice way to spend a weekend. The choices are almost unlimited.
