Just wanted to say thank you to a car dealer service dept.

In Watertown, South Dakota. Which for you people on the coasts is a town of 12,000 in the middle of nowhere. My wife and daughter went up there to see her mother for Christmas. She took the Jeep as they have serious snow up there. The wife calls me last night to tell me the heater blower quit working. Now this might not be a big deal in California, but in sub-zero weather no heat is a serious matter.

All the fuses are good so I suspect the blower motor went bad. Turns out there is a Jeep dealer there in town. I call them this morning and they are open! I tell them the problem and they get her right in. Yep, bad blower motor. Bad news is that the closest one is in Minneapolis and they can't get it in until Tuesday. Not good.

So what happens? Well the service manager goes out to one of the Jeeps on the lot and gets a blower motor out of that Jeep and installs it in our Jeep! Now keep in mind it is 10 degrees there and has snowed so much they had to use a snow blower and snow shovel to get to the Jeep on the lot.

2 hours and $200 later my wife has a nice, warm Jeep thanks to Jake and the Watertown Ford/Chrysler/Jeep dealer. Now that is midwestern values.

Awesome!!!!!

I know it's frustrating for me if my wife/family is far from home and need help. It's good to know there are good people out there still.

Hope they have a safe/no event trip home.

Small town values...wow, that's great. For a dealership to do that for somebody "just passing through" is amazing.

I agree on great place to live but the winters are getting harder every year. Just down the road in Sioux Falls. Over 20"s on the ground just with this last snowfall. One of the small town dealers that has not been bought out by the giants. Kudo's to a great job.

The spirit of Christmas does funny things.

It's also good to know that there still are "good" people out there

People in such places tend to try harder to help each other out. It's a matter orf survival.

born and raised ~80 miles straight south of Watertown. There's not much in eastern SD but wind, prairie, more wind and good neighbors...there, your neighbor might be 5 miles away. Good neighbors don't happen accidentally!!

I have been to SD once and was very impressed. A former co-worker used to have family up there and visited often, he always talked about how great the people were.

+1 on the thank-you card, that's above and beyond.
