Are Pelicans friends?

What do you call other Pelicans in front of your real life family/friends? For example, when you're telling a spouse or co-worker something and you make a reference to a Pelican, what do you address said Pelican as? Friend? Acquaintance? Some guy?

Obviously, that depends. Pelicans I've met in person and hang out with socially. I feel comfortable referring to those as friends. Then there are Pelicans I've met once or twice and we seem to get along online. I can at least refer to those as people I know. But what about Pelicans you've never met face-to-face, but "converse" with regularly? What do those guys get labeled as? Vash sent me a PPOT X-mas exchange gift. Lubey's sent me some of his magic elixir. It seems odd to refer to them as "some dudes on the internet."

Listen, if I start telling stories and refer to you guys as "Pelicans" with no explanation (as that would otherwise kill the momentum of the conversation), people will wonder what kind of Dr. Doolittle Kool Aid I'm drinking.

lolo, thought of this quite a bit since joining up.
Porsche buddies is one that I use.

This place is special. I obviously post to other forums but never really think of most those folks as buddies.

When I go back to LA to visit family I always look for Pelican stickers or keep an eye out for older 911 cars, hoping that I might catch up to one of you. Next time I go back, definitely going to post here to catch any offers on meeting up.

There are also quite a few folks here that I look up to. So much knowledge, experience and yes BS but even that is fun!

Thanks!!!

When someone gets confused when I refer to "Pelicans", I simply clarify with: "you know, spoon collectors". That usually clears everything up.

Internet losers.

How about "friends from a car club"? That's usually enough to scare away any non-car person from further conversation.

did a quick google for pelican .... here's what I found

definition of a pelican:

a group of guys (and "cool" women) who:
- like to look at fat arses and then say wow!
- have extremely defined taste in women, cars, food, pets, (guns)
- will tell you are way wrong, since they know you are wrong
- have banned God/god along with politicians into the other world
- drool over dogs
- share their inner most secrets with those they have never met or seen before * Pelican membership is necessary though
- are extremely supportive of other Pelicans, * especially supportive of confirming your stupidity
- includes an extremist sect that is looking to rule the world (including those SC drivers)
- like to post utter non-sense to maintain Pelicaness
- love to take pictures of themselves in engine compartments just to prove that they can
- whose vernacular includes, juan, fluff, spoon, P-car
- willing to give their shirts off their backs
- have given Santa a new interesting image
- normally a higher than normal IQ * just don't read any posts in PPOT since you'd never know!
