Pet peeve time: car dealerships advertising the " Oh Ten" models. Sounds terrible.

Most people are saying "two thousand ten" now, by the end of the year most of us will have converted to saying "twenty ten". I think the poll is showing this group to be a bit progressive in that manner.

The reason for this, (if it happens) is that the concept of dealing with a double digit year ending is just sinking in.

Like a little kid holding up four fingers, pausing (still holding the thumb back) then using his other hand to add another finger for a total of five years old. We just need time to adjust and for things to sink in.

I think you're right.

Also, we've been saying "two thousand one" "two thousand two" thru "two thousand nine" - so "two thousand ten" falls in that sequence.

I think when 2010 is over, it'll be referred to as "twenty ten" in hindsight, when we're all off saying "twenty eleven" "twenty twelve" and so on.
