I'm a "Weather Fan"...if the weather sucks, I'll watch football, generally as background noise unless the 49'ers are playing. Either that or there is a compelling storyline. I've been doing farm taxes the last hour or so because it is a$$ biting cold outside and their were no oysters in the river.

I played a lot of football (baseball at the college level) and admire the skill level. I have no issue with the money they make, anymore than I do with someone who can sing well and has a hit record.

The guy made a comment about how big my kid was and how he is going to make a great ball player. He was apalled when I stated that while I will not discourage him playing ball, I will certiainly not encourage it. Why do grown men go gaga over this game??. I just never got it.
Rather than spend my weekend parked on my ass drinking beer and watching sports, I always prefered doing something constructive.
+1000. Frankly, I hate the $**** and the whole "ESPN sport culture" thing for that matter. F'n retarded. The only thing I hate worse are Baseball fans when they come out for a Mariner's game around here. Messes up traffic. Dorks.

I have no interest in watching a bunch of big sweaty men in tight uniforms - looks good on you, though - not that there's anything wrong with that.

The only sport I can stand to watch is women's beach volleyball.

Football racket, tennis club, golf bat (oh wait - golf's a game, not a sport), basketball paddle - got rid of 'em all after I stopped playing as a kid.

All I watch is curling during the Winter Olympics, probably because I didn't get to play it when I was a kid (my big sister always hid her curling iron from me when it dropped to 32 degrees).

Oops! Forgot about women's beach volleyball...there's a ball involved in that game?

For me it's just entertainment and not really that compelling. I watch the occaisional game, but no big deal.

I'm always amazed by the in depth analysis of the players, coaches, strategies, stats, good calls, bad calls and what have you by all the big talkers. I have nothing to say.

It's Football, Tennis Racket, Golf Club and Baseball bat. Where did you come from?

You watched figure skating too I'll bet.

Death would be preferable IMHO.

I used to just lllove watching the Synchronized Swimming - until one drowned...and her partner, like, totally out of synch, drowned too (a sad, sad day in Olympic sports :().

my father forced me to play in high school. it sucked. my neck still hurts, along with my back and knees and shoulders....

that said, i do enjoy watching the occasional college game, and i try to watch the superbowl every year, cause it is fun.

do i care about the stats and players and the draft? pft, i couldn't give a rat's rectum. the only current player's name i know offhand is that of brett favre.

People watch this crap so they have something to talk about at the next cocktail party, picnic, or whatever. I'd rather be (and am) the ********* keeping away from the cavemen over in the other corner. I'd rather talk about furniture than football.
