Read the "fine print"...DANGER!!!

So it was a cold morning and I was in a hurry yesterday...not enough time to soap & brush, just shave while in the shower. I found this good shave gel last year in England (and have found it here as well) that I like. Well, I was almost out and the wife found some that "looked like the same stuff"....Well, it was'nt, but I see the words "Cream Shave" in large print in the steamy shower, so I guess it's OK...

Squeeze some out and apply to my face. Sniff-sniff...smells a bit like tar. Let's see how it shaves...Hey, my face feels smoother than a Joe Namath commercial from the 60's! Wait, damn....NO STUBBLE at all, this is great...tingles a bit though.
Dang, this stuff stinks. OK, wash face, rinse, finish shower.

WOW...face is billiard ball smooth now, but the smell is still there...Hey, my face is starting to get tighter than Joan Rivers....Ouch....thiis is really tingling, must go wash face again. SWEET MOTHER OF PEARL, my face is on effing fire, WTF?

Get tube of shave cream, start reading the fine print..."Razorless Cream Shave", then under directions, the following:
"How to "test" the product, then, "do not wet the face before using", "do NOT use a razor with this product" and "do not wash with soap"....OMG, I'm screwed!

I swear it feels like I must have done an acid peel all the way to my jawbone! I feel like I've washed my face with acetone and smell like I've dipped myself in creosote!

Mrs. Rouxroux comes home yesterday afternoonand I tell her my plight, telling her she can have this stuff for her legs if she wishes and says "No way, I know what "Nair" feels like.

Just trying to save y'all some pain....Here's a pic. ONE OF THESE THINGS IS NOT LIKE THE OTHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's amusing, sorry about your face. Reminds me of the link to the motorbike thread a while back about the guy who poured a couple of bottles of some power drink in his bike thinking it was a fuel injector flush with the same, or similar brand name.

A friend of mine was dozing, shirtless, face down on his sofa one lazy summer afternoon a couple of years ago.

Great, his wife thought, I can finally take care of his hairy back. So she squirts some nair on his back.

He still hasn't forgiven her...

Just be glad you weren't doing a little trimming 'somewhere else'. You might not be around to write this story.

Good stuff!

I use the King of Shaves on my head, works great (one on the left, not the razorless stuff).

What's an acid peel and how come you know so much about the effects?
