The sounds of the mighty 917 are worth watching the movie.

Sourpuss! Gotta admit, that '70 S was gorgeous...

Not sure if the fellow is on the board but a group of us were invited to view the car, (and a lot of cool others), last summer. He lives in Lime Rock, Ct. right near the track. I don't remember the name, The Garage or something. But a very beautiful car.

Lemans the movie

At my request the wife got me the DVD for Christmas to replace my old VHS copy. I love this film but more as a documentary of the period (late 60's, early 70's) and old school sports car racing. In fact we watched it last night and Elga is still smokin hot in my book. The improved sound and picture quality of the DVD is a nice bonus. Too bad it was such a box office failure but as she correctly pointed out there were / are so few people in the States that dig road racing and sports cars, etc.

Its great to see all the small bore Porsche's in the film but the Ford Gt's that continued to dominate through 1970 are noticeably absent. Some people like 'Its a Wonderful Life" for the holidays. I prefer to watch "LeMans" at least once per year usually during our weather mandated hibernation in the North Star State.
