start/stop stopwatch in 911 w/sportchrono pkg
A guy that I work with just traded his cayman in on this
2005 Carrera S (yeah, he sucks). He says the car did not come with the owner's manual. He's curious how to control the stopwatch. Does anyone know how to start/stop the stopwatch in the sport-chrono package?

I just asked him what the payment is. I guess he sucks a little less. His monthly payment is my mortgage (granted, I have a small mortgage).

It is accessed by the lower left hand stalk, push forward to get to the menu, scroll (up/down on lever) to "Chrono". Select "Start Timing" Push forward.
Once you engage "Start Timing" it will give you options for "Stop Timing" and "Interim Timing" You can also do a bunch of stuff through the PCM (if optioned -- set track length, etc). I'd recommend a manual for that...

We stopped by the parking garage after lunch (all 6 of us) to check out his car. Yowza, very nice. Nice BBS 19x11 and 19x8.5 wheels w/Bridgestone Potenza RE050s. Rollbar, sawbelt 6 point harnesses, GT3 seats, and several other mods. He's trying to find the PO to see if he can get more info. Apparently it has a new/replacement engine from Porsche. The only "issue" with it is what sounds like a death rattle that he's been told is due to the aftermarket clutch. He's going to get that checked out. He's also getting a K40 radar detector installed.

He could save a few bucks by simply going with a V-1...while having every bit as good protection. Of course, this car isn't about saving a few bucks.

Mine has been a great car.
22.5 miles so far... all weather, all sorts of road conditions. This is my DD, and no garage queen. Here is list of what has broken on it (all covered by warranty). - L + R rear TPM sensors (readings weren't accurate -- replaced) - Rattle in driver door when stereo bass was turned up. The rattle was a piece of plastic sheathing on the door cable that came loose.

His is pretty heavily modified. I guess the guy was trying to build it into something like a GT3. Seems pretty darn sweet.

Now in 993 land ...

He needs to get some padding on that roll bar. The clutch making noise is possible - my cup clutch rattles at times at idle.

Yep. 22.5k. I noticed it when I posted, but neglected to change it.
I forgot how literal folks around here are sometimes...
