We move here 11 years ago from Montreal, Quebec. For me we have 3 seasons here, a long Fall that turn into Spring. Like said when it snow everything shut down. I think that Greensboro area are getting it more often than us in Raleigh.
Summer is kind of hot. Nice racetrack not far away, a few AX club, Beach and Mountain a few hours away. Nascar country if you happen to like it. Housing is not too expensive compare to other place and if you go outside the major town even less.
Not that bad of place to live and I think we are here for a while.

Ha, Ha.... my point was one of the challenges of moving is you always take yourself with you.

I've got a good story based on this question, if you want to hear it?

Good Luck!
Sounds to me as if you'll have a successful move

The only way i'd live in NC is right on/near by the beaches. Never go to the beach myself (though I live 5 minutes from it) but I enjoy eating and hunting things that live/play in salt water.

BUT no doubt jobs are hard to find along the shore.

I'm a bit of an oddball though. Can't stand most southern cooking, have no interest in NASCAR, get irritated when I see rebel flags, do not think Bass Pro Shops and Wal Mart are acceptable substitutes for the Smithsonian and would rather visit the mountains then go back home to the ocean than the reverse.

I believe we all make mistakes but I will not validate your poor choices and/or perversions and subsidize the results your actions.

Things are really picking up here in Kinston. We love being between the ocean and mountains. My father is in Columbus and plans on moving to the mountains of WNC soon. First thing to do is suscribe to Our State magazine. You will love it here.
