Bangle back at BMW???

Some pics that just came in from a friend in Austria. No comments with the email.
My thoughts? That the 1964 Ford GT40 has much better looking lines. But then, I'm an old fart. I'm wondering what the young here think?

Perhaps they spent too much time with their HotWheels as a child.

1) Get rid of the bulges in the hood and lower the hood line.
2) Some understatement on the front end would be nice. Right now the headlights, lower valance, and center intake have all of the subtlety of a stripper with basketball-sized breasts.
3) The sides are entirely too busy. There are some nice lines there, let them stay and get rid of everything else.
4) The back end looks like somebody put some ridiculous body kit on a 1-series. Get rid of the oversized taillights, lower the trunk deck. Everything above the bumper is wrong.

It looks like a Corvette had sex with a 1 Series in some anime porn.

How about just ignoring it and moving on to a Ferrari?

That's a photoshop rendering by some Iranian kid (really) a few months back. BMW did do an M1 design exercise recently:

Then I'd have to complain about how you have to drop the engine to pull the spark plugs or remove the intake manifold to get to the oil filter...

Yeah, but somehow, I don't think this would be any easier -- even if it were a real car.

You're probably right.

I do think the Ford GT, with its flip-back engine cover, is extremely easy to service...

I used to dislike the GT. Now, with everything looking so weird, I like that car.
