You guys really have NO idea what its like there. Unfortunately I have spent a lot of time in this neck of the woods in the past 5 years. Liberia is what Sierra Leon was 15 years ago, a tenderbox ready to explode.

There is absolutely no law there, only who is in power at the moment, and who is going to come along next. We (the Western nations) keep shoveling money into this part of the world with few results.

The answer? I have no idea but what we are doing now is not for the most part helping.

The answer is to cut off all aid to africa for 50 years and then try to work a deal with whoever is left in 2060, once the continent and population has stabilized itself.

But it will never happen.

Cannot totally disagree with that. We have done a lot of good but frankly believe that of all the aid that America has sent over to Africa, that a minimum of 75% has been wasted, stolen or mis-used.

One thing we really need to do is to re-assess who we give our aid to and in what amounts.
