help needed please

Hi . I have a champion c2000k winch fitted onto my trailer which has a predator 165 boat on it.

I wired from the battery heavy welding cable to rear of the car.

The winch came with a 5 foot control cable on it.

the way the control was wired is as follows.

the supply (which connects to the rear of my car ) goes to the hand control and from the handcontrol to the winch.

I decided to extend these cables .the cable i used is 5 mm cable.
the length including the return to motor is about 7 meters.

Now my question is as follows.

I pulled my boat halfway of the trailer. but when i wanna winch it back on the motor sounds as if the battery is drained.( which it isnt and motor was also turning)

could it be because of the lenght of cable i used?

steyrman told me he is also using a 2000 lbs winch without a problem. and his boat is heavier ( warrior175)

good advise very welcome.

ron
