Met a lot of rock stars last week at NAMM

A childhood dream finally came true when I landed a pass to the NAMM show in Anaheim. I've wanted to go to this event since I was 13 and it didn't disappoint. It's the holy grail of musical toys and their celebrity endorsers. Hands down, the coolest, nicest guy there was Warren DiMartini from RATT. He wanted to chat with every person who stood in line for an autograph and thanked each one for waiting. Slash was cool too, but the security goons were total dicks. The only word I got in with him before being shooed away was that he had the same watch on I had - a Breitling ChronoAvenger.

Poor Mick Mars looked to be down to under 100 lbs. and on his last legs. He was in great spirits though and had a huge crowd waiting for him.

World's greatest bassist (no, it's not even close to debatable), Victor Wooten.

One of the world's greatest guitarists, Steve Morse left and Dave LaRue right.

The Satch.

Gene.

George Lynch and Seymour Duncan.

more coming soon

That dude from the Phil Collins videos.

Photo sucks, but that's Steve Vai talking with Steve Lukather and Neal Schon. Yes, the hair on my arm was standing up when I came across these guys.

Yngwie.

Duff McKagan

I met RATT, back in the day. Warren and Bobby Blotzer were very nice and took time to talk to me. I even got to sound check Bobby's drum kit and hang out with his drum tech for the entire concert. They were my idols at the time so this was HUUUUUUUUGE.

I know, I know. I figured someone might only remember him from the Susudio video.

To add some Porsche content, earlier that morning, BW911 and I went to cars and coffee at the Ford HQ in Irvine. I didn't take too many photos, as I was saving my batteries for NAMM, but man, unbelievable hardware there. Must have been 200 cars, one Bugatti Veyron, tons of suped up Porsches, Ferraris, Alfas, old Bimmers, etc. Lots of eye candy that day.

I saw Rikki Rocket there too. He has his own drum company now. He and I had traded PM's through another site about getting together to ride when Poison was in Phoenix. Rikki has a BMW F800GS. I was at his booth at NAMM and wanted to introduce myself, but he was so mobbed with folks. I went back a little late to see if it had calmed down, but Steven Adler had come by and the booth was even more mobbed.

LOL, everytime I've been at NAMM I walk around and think, hey that guy looks famous. I wonder who he is?

There are so many pros there they blend in.
Well, not all of them. Elton John kinda stood out ...........
