They're not large optics. It will still be a carry spoon, it will still fit in all my holsters (i'll post pix when i get it back). It will also be my primary "when zombies attack!" side-spoon. If i ever get off comp (6 herniated discs!) it will be my repo spoon too.

There are no permanent modifications to the spoon from the MFD. I can put the old sights back on in about 10-15 minutes...if for some reason i don't want a day/night all-weather targeting system anymore.

The Mag-na-porting....not so much. I'm going to initiate an email exchange with HK and Mag-na-port to make sure the porting won't render the gas retardation system ineffective first. If i'm not convinced it will work properly, it's not getting done.

After that it will go for a 2 tone NP3'd frame (probably the satin black they offer, with polished take down button and trigger) and mirror high polish blued slide.

I'm not doing this for you, or to fit in with your sensibilities. I'm doing it for me, to fit in with mine....this spoon is what I've wanted since i saw Die Hard in about 1986.

When it's done it should be quite awesome. And a lifetime keeper.

Here's the Burris fastfire mounted on a bunch of other pistols. It does not make the pistol impractical.

How about this fully comped P17M13 race gun with frame mount optics and 25 rd extended magazine? (yes, you can order one--- for about $5,000.00!!! They'll do your PSP for about $3000...)

So, when is this little project going to be back together?

The seller backed out on my p7. I was pretty bummed then I stopped in a local gunshop and found a really clean p9s for dirt cheap. I can't wait to put some rounds through my new spoon.

Tim shipped it back to me today, it should be here by thursday or friday. Trust me i will post pix.

Why don't you look for a P7 on CDNN? Rick said they're really cheap. You can get an A grade for about $650 i think he said.

Having discussed this on a P7 forum, i've decided porting the P7 is a bad idea. The recoil spring is wrapped around the fixed barrel. This would expose it to direct exhaust gas under high pressure on every shot.

Not a good idea IMO.

I was wondering about that. My local smith said it would be a bad idea for that reason on my P9S. I still haven't gotten out to shoot it, it'll probably be the usual Saturday morning range time before I do.
