I stand corrected. I was told by two long time Iphone users that you can't. I'm sorry.

No, I'm more of an open source fan. I did convert my netbook to a hackintosh for a while though! I need cheaper hobbies!

No, actually I have a Palm Pre. I am a big fan of Sprint's coverage and the phone is supremely hackable!

There is a large homebrew software community for the phone so in that sense it is about as "open source" as your going to get. It's very easy to write programs in Java for the Pre and Palm doesn't seem to mind you throwing them up on the internet for users to try. In fact many of the homebrew apps became "official"apps sold via the Palm app store over time. I couldn't get an Android phone because Sprint didn't carry one at the time I needed to upgrade. Most of the computers I have at home are running some flavor of Linux, my media centers are currently running Boxee (even my Windows 7 machines), and I really prefer Open Office and Firefox to Microsoft Office or Internet Explorer.

Seriously, at what point does the printed word need to become a DVD player?

Good point. This has uber-geek drool all over it then. How big of a market-share will the comic-book reading on tech be?

Honestly I don't think it will have that much of an effect. Comic readers are also collectors and with Apple's DRM you won't be able to anything with the E-comic after you read it. This is my biggest gripe with the Kindle. I can't even donate my license to a library so they can figure out some kind of two week "lending" system!

This will lend itself to other facets, comic books is only 1 example, although Marvel is a pretty big company..... also I said "graphic novels"?.... as far as being collectable goes, who knows what kids in the future will consider "collectable"
