anna maria island florida

Heading south in 5 weeks or so going to disney and then anna maria island. Any inside info ? nice place? places to see or go to eat?

On the north end of the Island there is the Sand Bar restaurant and the Sign of the Mermaid restaurant. Both are excellent. My wife very much enjoyed the Sign of the Mermaid. It is a small locally owned place that has excellent service and an interesting atmosphere. The food is fantastic. You should make reservations for both or be prepared to eat late.

About a 45 min drive to the south is St Armand Circle, lots of shops and restaurants. Makes for a great afternoon evening.

We head down there just about every year and stay on the Island. IT is a great vacation and pretty low key without the usual Florida tourism crap!

last year we went to sanibel/captiva and that was wonderful before that cape san blas another great spot so hopefully this will be as nice. We did see that rotten ralph's is suppose to be great
