Loading recommendations - K1200S - F-150
Recently replaced my Volvo wagon with a new F-150 King Ranch 4x4, 5.4L. Man, I love this truck. Interior of a Lexus, great ride (for a full sized truck), quiet and powerful, with nearly 10k lbs towing capacity and the ability to haul landscaping bricks when the urge strikes. Peter Egan recently wrote about the perfect vehicle to do everything. This is pretty close for me.
Anyway, I occasionally need to haul my bike (for service, tire changes, etc.). Once or twice a year. I don't want to buy yet another trailer to collect leaves and spider webs in the yard. Looking for a practical way to load it in the truck. With the tailgate lowered, it's 8' long. My BMW K12S is about 7.5' long from tip of tire to tip of tire and weighs about 480lbs. I have a locking wheel chock for up front. This looks like the best ramp system I've been able to find...just not thrilled with the $525 price tag for a ramp (girls don't come with it). Anyone else have ideas/suggestions? ![]() Thanks.
