Anybody own a Ford Edge?
Like it? Hate it? Issues?
We test drove a 2010 model the other day and it was really nice.

Not the same but I have driven my MIL 2010 Ford Escape. It was nice and I averaged about 25MPG. Not bad for a small ute with AWD.

I don't own one but I like them, they are pretty much the same as a Mazda CX7.

Edge is not the same as the Escape either. I got one for a client a couple months ago. Nice rig. Look at a Murano as well. |

Really impressed with Ford lately. Just bought an F150 King Ranch pickup and love it. Smooth, powerful, not a squeak to be heard. Wife wants a Ford Flex when her Odyssey is put out to pasture. Suspect the Edge is similar quality.

I rented one for a business trip and absolutely loved it. Nice driving vehicle, great view, loved the engine. The one I drove was the 3.5 liter Duratec V6. I had the 3.0 Duratec in my Mazda6 wagon and prior to that the 2.5 in my MX-6. Really love that engine family.
Remember the old slogan "Have you driven a Ford - Lately?" Very, very, good vehicle. angela

I rode in one and was impressed, much nicer than I expected. I've also always liked the styling, it's distinctive without being gaudy.

I agree with kaisan, check out a Murano for comparison or at least a baseline. We rented one in VT. a while back and as with all rentals...I drove it like it was stolen...err, rented all over the back country. I was amazed at how well it handled. No edge experience.

My friend bought it and he's really really happy! Tells me the gas mileage is the same as his Suzuki Grand Vitara (4 cyl)
Here in the city there are more and more of those... Especially the Lincoln Ed.

Maybe it's an improvement in styling and quality, or maybe it's their refusal of a government bailout, but more and more Fords are turning my head. The new Fiesta looks to be a very good new small car, the new Focus FINALLY is the same great car they get in Europe, the new 5.0 Mustang GT gets 410 HP with a 300 HP base V6, and the Taurus is again a respectable (but BIG) car. I had a Fusion hybrid as a rental and was very impressed, it seemed to be high quality and we averaged 45 MPG (despite our best efforts). They also build the F150 Raptor, which is probably the most insane new vehicle being sold today. A production truck made to run the Baja probably won't be a top seller, but it's crazy enough to be interesting.

I think the Ranger switched to Edge in 2001. I have a 2000 Ranger 4WD. Had a couple of sensor problems with it at first while it was under warranty. It may be because it can run on gas or ethanol.
Just put a clutch in & noticed leak around frt dif pinion seal. Other than that nothing except oil changes, filters, brakes, tires, wipers, battery, assy belt, & alternator. Just got some shocks to put on with more brakes. Will probably change plugs, wires, & antifreeze this summer. Been a good truck. Am driving with cruise control disconnected due to recall years back. Been a good truck.

I don't have one, but I often tell my wife that my next company car may be the Lincoln MKX, which is the Lincoln version of the Edge.
It is a very nice looking vehicle. I have been driving Fords since 1986. My current Mountaineer is a money pit but I do love the truck. Still cheaper to Fix Or Repair Daily then buy new cars every few years.
