How'd you do with today's rains?
Whoa! I didn't know the rains were that strong? Our garage was flooded, and leaks sprung up in one of the bathrooms.
But in the hills, they really bought it. Mud inundated many homes, some left red tagged. Even Hollywood Blvd, supposedly, was victim of a mudslide from the surrounding hills. Sheesh! When Mother Nature wants to teach her lessons, she does so harshly. ![]()

No problem here. Slept through it, but I was going to bed early this morning and heard the deluge. I don't think I have ever heard it rain so hard.

That's the weird thing. The heavy rains didn't wake me. I got up this morning, turned on Channel 7, and saw breaking news with SUVs floating down roads, and K-rails sailing into people's homes. I thought, WTF, it was just a nice shower last night. Very strange...

As usual, the big window in my kitchen dripped (badly), and my side yard flooded. But that's normal for my house in heavy rain. My drive home from LAX last night after work was...er...a little stressful. The Extreme Performance Summer tires on the 996 don't handle rain all that well.

A corner of my garage near the garage door flooded again. Funny how these things are never disclosed by the sellers. Maybe they were blind.
edit for Porsche content: Saw a Boxster up to the wheelwells in mud in one of those overhead shots of La Canada.

Last summer, I spent about $14K on re-doing the landscaping and drainage, totally to address rain issues that were expected. Put in gutters. Not a puddle anywhere, slight leak in the house, a new roof is in my future.

We got over 4 inches here in Upland. I took my car trailer out in it Saturday morning and the water heading south (I live in the foothills) was as high as the trailer!
