Josh,

This is actually one of the most frequent responses I've gotten. I'm happy to be able to bring this to life where so many have wanted to. I actually have had this dream for a while. I bought the domain name in 2004, thinking that I'd learn how to write html myself and build the site myself.

It actually took getting laid off for me to motivate and put it into motion. I did not build it myself - i worked with a friend of mine who does this professionally (we can all be very thankful that he was involved, as "my" version of a web site would likely involve duct tape somehow).

There are two reasons for the basic nature of the site. one is that design and frills cost money. The other is that I want to emphasize content over style. That said, it looks a little more "real" when I have some pictures accompanying stories. I'll go update it a bit.

Thank you all so much for your support and comments. It really does feel good to have finally made this real.

Guys,

Good stuff on the site, including some olympics highlights, cool homefront stories, and apparently Frankincense may hold a cure for cancer.

Thanks for the continued support.

Keep up the good work! I love the positive home front stories. Much better than reading about who mugged who or robbed this or whatever. The general media has even brought this into their Olympics coverage. The death of the luge racer - the number of asinine questions asked trying to evoke reactions was pitiful. The constant highlight reels of crashes from the ladies downhill. The undertones of "are the Olympics too dangerous and deadly". Thanks NBC, for ruining one of the last true arenas of pure sports.
Thanks for reminding us all of the positive things going on in the world!

OK, now that's a cool website. Bookmarked--and may well become my "home page".

Thank you very much for the support and for the kind words. The one thing I'd ask of you is to tell people you know about it, as the site depends completely on word of mouth and visits.

Thanks again.
