clone, I think

Guy I got my 914 from is a mopar guy. Had a '70 hemi roadrunner convertible, air grabber hood and all. I seem to recall him getting 100 large for it, cat from Lincoln, NE, flew out, drove it home. I read somewhere that they made less than 10 of them. All that torque is maybe not a great idea when you have an open top, I bet you would twist the frame a bit if you were imprudent with the right foot.

ODDJOB UNO 02-09-2010 07:49 PM

didnt barretts NOT allow that car to be sold at their auction due to it possibly NOT being a beach boy mobile? or some other questionable heritage? seems i read something here about that.

yes and owning something like that................well ya just cant sit and stare at it. ya need to DRIVE IT! and by about 2 hours into ownership i would be in jail and the car confiscated by AZ DPS for going over 85mph. that would make the 10pm news for blowing past the AZDPS helo! hahahaha

m21sniper 02-10-2010 07:01 AM

They take your car for going over 85?

I could never, ever, ever live in your state.

creaturecat 02-10-2010 07:38 AM

That has got to be the ugliest hemi cuda that i have ever seen. Perhaps it is the convertible configuration.

snipe az has the TOUGHEST NASTIEST DUI LAWS and SPEEDING above 85mph is up to the discretion(or how stoopid you are speeding or how much ya piss the cop off) of the officer/shariff to CONFISCATE, as in TAKE AWAY the great offendi's vehicle.

during barrett /russo-steele and the other 3 auctions, AZDPS was ALL OVER local freeway system nailing newbie car owners letting them rip on the freeway for test drives. they aint stoopid here. photo radar, bike cops, marked vehicles, unmarked vehicles. and they aint all your run of the mill obvious as hell crown vics.

now if ya tend to like to imbibe on booze while driving, and ya have a lead foot, and ya blow a heavy duty breath a lyzer and manage yerself an AGGRAVATED DUI...................well yer gonna have yer vehicle taken, your body taken, your SOUL TAKEN,let alone your wallet, and your TIME TAKEN AWAY! as in PRISON!

the secret is:

dont drink and drive.

dont haul ass

and if ya really really gotta gotta haul ass............like urine on a mission from GOD............well ya better have a CB,a police scanner, (2) DAR DAR DETECTORS front and rear that will pick up LAZER BEAM DEATH RAYS, and CAP(combat air patrol) overhead to cover yer ass! and even then its no gurrantee(guarantee)!

m21sniper 02-10-2010 10:39 AM

I couldn't live there. Simple as that. In a state that absolutely empty it would be remarkable when i wasn't exceeding 85 out there in my 928.

ODDJOB UNO 02-10-2010 11:05 AM

ya know it is difficult to keep yer foot out of it in any p-car here.

how i roll at mach speed is :

a) i know shift change hours.

b) rough idea of donut hours

c) always let a "rabbit" who is DYING TO RACE YOU, go by you like you were standing still and use HIM FOR BAIT!

d) lazer beam death ray DAR DAR DETECTOR(escort)

e) know the road and the TERRAIN(ie> hiding spots) dont haul ass if ya cant see.

f) watch truckers behavior

g) blip it only when i have given the sky a looky see for aeroplanes/satellites/balloons/UAV's

h) and thats how i have kept my wallet,my car, stayed out of jail, and a SPOTLESS DRIVING RECORD since 1996!(last speeding ticket-84 in a 55mph zona).

i) and get my YA YA's out at the track when possible, or let off steam out in the dez with my racey truck.

if yer totally bored some day..........look up STOPDUIAZ.com and click on scottsdale(snobbsdale) and view all the "hotties" and other nefarious scoundrels busted for DUI here and view their CHARGES/ FINES$$$$$$/JAIL TIME or PRISON/RESTITUTION(jail costs)/BREATH-O-METER interlock on ignition/and a beautiful PORTRAIT of said OFFENDI on the day or night they were busted POO-FACED! great laughs and YES i have seen people i KNOW and laughed my ASS OFF!

Nope. It was a plain Jane 318 two barrel with an automatic. It sold on BJ a couple of years ago. Didn't go for much, even with Don Johnson having farted in the seat.

Tobra 02-10-2010 12:03 PM

Billy, Montana is the western state that would agree with your sensibilities the most, in my estimation. In days of yore for anything less than ridiculously unsafe and stupid speeding, you would get a ticket for "failure to conserve energy" pay your fine to the officer and go your seperate ways. I do not think that is the case any longer, but they are a little more understanding about the right foot getting heavy when you have a LOOONG stretch of arrow straight, flat road in front of you. Fairly certain they have grown up gun laws too.

If you do go, be circumspect in your interactions when near the Rez, or you might not come home.

m21sniper 02-10-2010 12:04 PM

I would already be there if it didn't get so damned cold there.

Tobra 02-10-2010 12:13 PM

It is only cold in the winter.

Of course winter is occasionally eleven and a half months long. Get yourself a senorita in AZ, and a cabin in MT. Just don't forget to drain all the water out of the place before you leave.

I actually like Pa, just not Philly. I've been eyeing properties up state for a while now.

In Pa only state troopers are authorized to use radar guns. :)
