Can't find the other thread on this. Anyone going Friday, Saturday, or Sunday?

I wish. NHRA pro level drag racing is by far my favorite racing to attend live. I'll just have to wait for the Northwest Nationals when they swing through up here.
Anyone who has never seen this in person owes it to themselves to go. TV just cannot do it justice. Fridays are the best days, IMHO, as you see all classes run and the big kids have two qualifying runs to get in.

A little far for me now.
When I used to live in La Verne...not so much.

I've got press and photo creds for 2. If I can make time I will PM you and we can hook up. I need to present my ID to get them. I'm trying to make time but it's not looking good. Nothing like standing beside a 8000 hp dragster when it launches. I dropped my camera and ducked behind the wall the first time. I will know tomorrow by noon if I can go Steve

I had a free ticket for tomorrow courtesy of K&N but I'm watching my son this weekend (wife is at my daughter's volleyball tournament in Vegas).
He likes mechanical stuff but he had his ears operated on when he was little to restore his hearing and ever since then he's been very sensitive to loud noises. Even with ear plugs he wouldn't enjoy it so I had to pass up the free ticket, with free parking. this is the first winternationals I've missed in a long time. I'll be at the finals tho ..... |

I ended up going, with ear plugs my son was OK with the noise.
Got there around 10, stayed until 3. By that time he was burned out by the noise and the sun (80 degrees) but we got to see the pro stock and the big boys run. Sat in aisle 23 in the reserved section, free except for the $8 beers. |
