Maybe he is tied up in bed? Girl sitting on his face?

Hope he is ok...

imcarthur 02-14-2010 07:31 PM

I believe that he posted in one of the 'nasty' threads (frequent as of late) that he felt it was time for a personal 'time out'.

I think he's busy on a project.

Joeaksa 02-14-2010 07:59 PM

Just sent him an email.

porsche4life 02-14-2010 08:47 PM

He posted in my thread about a chem problem... but thats it...

trekkor 02-14-2010 09:12 PM

When I go down to L.A. for a run at Big Willow, I'll invite him to come along for a ride.

Thanks for the concern boys. Just a confluence of stuff, though I did give myself a self-imposed "time out" after one too many nasty threads.

Beyond that, work is crazy, ramping up a new project, continuing another, and got another dropped in my lap. Been back and forth to AZ a few times already this year, am off to Boston this week and Ft. Lauderdale the week after.

On the plus side, joined a funk band on bass so I have weekly rehearsal with them. Also put together a sort of twisted classic rock trio thing on guitar going so I've been working up tunes and getting the book for that together. Being a sideman on bass isn't too much work. Leading the band on guitar and vocals is way too much work. But might as well stuff as much into life as you can while still upright.

Funk? You mean like Parliament? Old school rules!

So Todd is trying to become Bootsy Collins....

dd74 02-14-2010 11:44 PM

Bootsy is well worth emulating IMO. SmileWavy

onewhippedpuppy 02-15-2010 02:43 AM

What is this "real life" you speak of?:D

Jim Richards 02-15-2010 04:06 AM

It sounds like your having a good time, Todd. Kudos, and best wishes on the band(s).

Just turn off your computer, Matt. Just turn off your computer. :)

Actually the band is more a mix of a bit more subtle funk (does that exist?) and acid jazz. So for instance tunes by Greyboy Allstars, Brand New Heavies and Liquid Soul along with Tower of Power, Meters, Curtis Mayfield, Stevie Wonder, etc.

I did buy an envelope filter though, so the Bootsy conversion has begun. Now I just need some diapers...

Well it does now!

Stay healthy, Todd

Best,

How long you going to be in Boston?

I get in Tuesday night - am staying in Natick. I'm nose down on work all day Wed and Thu, then fly out at 8:30pm Thursday night. If anyone is close to Natick I might be able to do something Wed night. I figure it'll be 9pm before I get to the hotel Tues night and I have an early call the next morning.

Shaun @ Tru6 02-15-2010 11:16 AM

Where in Natick? There are a few nice restaurants in Natick/Wellesley.

nostatic 02-15-2010 11:45 AM

I'm at the Crowne Plaza in Natick. I know nothing of the area, and will just hope to be able to pilot the rental car from Logan to there. I remember driving around Boston back in '87. I'm just now recovering ;)

Shaun @ Tru6 02-15-2010 11:57 AM

Todd, for very good, if not a little too safe, Legal Seafoods is just down the road (Rt 9) from the Crowne Plaza. Not quite Chez Henri but very good seafood. If it's not gone, there was a really good steak place very close as well.

Natick is sort of out in the sticks, probably 30-40 minute drive from Logan.

deanp 02-15-2010 01:30 PM

I'm up for dinner / drink on Wednesday night. There's a fair amount of good restaurants on Rt 9 in Natick.

Hugh R 02-15-2010 02:55 PM

When you pull out of the rental car place, you immediately turn right and into a Toll Booth, make sure you have some cash. If you don't have a GPS I suggest that you rent one from the car rental company. It won't work for the first mile or two cause you're going to be in a tunnel. Dial in your destination before leaving the car rental and not the first few miles of directions.

To get around Mass you gota think like an 18th century cow....I suppose it was a beotch trying to write the computer code to make the GPS work in Mass.

What are you doing in AZ without calling me?

Yeah, not cool... :p

Sorry guys, I'm down in Sierra Vista - not exactly local to Phoenix. Plus my trips there have been whirwind - fly in first thing in the morning, work all day and evening, get up the next morning, work until noon then drive back to TUS to fly back to LA.

Maybe at some point I'll have a little more of a break...but unless you guys want to drive to Sierra Vista for dinner (which is not exactly the home of great food), tough to hook up.

Rick Lee 02-15-2010 08:31 PM

If you ride your bike out to SV on a future trip, I'll ride down there and meet up with you for some awesome border country riding.

How could you ever follow something like this? I'd have to quit the forum for awhile if I ever raised the bar like that :D

I'm glad to read that everything is well. I thought something might actually be wrong when I read the thread title.
