Internet browsers
I'm currently running Internet Explorer 6.0 in my Windows XP desktop, but I have to upgrade to another browser because Youtube will soon be unaccessible with IE 6.0. I'm thinking of switching to Mozilla.
Is the browsing experience with Mozilla much different than IE? Thanks in advance! ~ Rog |
I like it better but that is just an opinion. Install it and see for yourself, if ya don't like it, delete it.

I like Firefox too but lately I've been using Google Chrome and I really like it a lot, very fast.
|
Been using it for years and love it. Very easy to learn and have not had one virus. Just added a new Netbook to the fleet yesterday......Only thing I used IE for was to download FireFox. Imported my bookmarks from the larger laptop and was running in under five minutes after the download.....You'll never look back....

I feel that firefox is light years ahead of IE. I think most would agree

Thanks for all the input! My mission is clear. Goodbye IE.. : )

FF on OS X has become fat and bloated lately. Used to be my default but have been using Camino last couple of years. Safari and Chrome are the current next gen browsers. Both use Webkit which is also supposed to be implemented in the next major release of FF. Been slowly migrating back to Safari. |

IE is garbage, and Firefox has become very bloated with recent releases. I'm using Chrome and am very happy with it, however some sites still require IE, so I have to keep it around for that. eg. live coverage of the olympics opening ceremonies ran like absolute crap on Chrome. They had a popup warning about it so I tried it in IE and it was perfectly smooth.

IE has a bigger hard drive footprint but uses memory more efficienty.
FireFox is smaller but doesn't handle some active content (like Flash) very well. |
After you download Firefox, add the extension AdBlock. It blocks the majority of the adds on web sites.

I use opera (called "the best browser no one has heard of") and firefox. Never use IE if you can help it.
Ever. Opera is lightning fast. Much faster than Firefox (on my machine at least). |

Chrome. I saw no advantage with FF but Chrome seems much faster than IE.

+1 for Opera. I like its e-mail feature, tabbed browsing, speed.
|
Firefox here. The ease of use, easy customization, and quick speed keep me liking it.
IE ran slowly both in startup time and page loads. I tried opera but it couldn't access my comcast email accounts and could only crawl through ebay. |
Firefox became too fat In my opinion. Chrome is perfect.
