The electric ones are the quietest.

Wow. Really wow. My GF lives off the grid, solar power, etc., and she has an 8KW continuous duty, industrial quality unit. It's nearly the size of a file cabinet. I shudder to think what a 30KW unit would look like. And sound like.

If you get the Honda eu3500, you can have it remote start. My buddy has one, and when we are hunting at 9500 feet in November and its butt azz cold out, its sweet to just push a button and the generator starts.

That feature would also come in handy ifn there are zombies in the vicinity.

When the sheat really hits the fan, I am heading to wyoming, and will just build and ice cellar.

OOPs...typo. 20KW. Suprisingly quiet. 2 litre engine IIRC. About 4'x5'x3' high. Weighs over 500 lbs. Mounted on concrete pad behind garage.
Prior owner's wife mandated that she wanted one that would run a/c full blast if need be

Here's what I have...just pulled from their website. At full operations load puts out 61 decibels... not silent but pretty quiet since its out behind garage.
