Is the movie in theaters now?

I would like a review as well. I just watched some classic zombie flicks the other night.

I personally would welcome the walking dead.

Read the book based on a discussion here a few months ago.

Was a good read. Did a search for clips on the net to get the flavor of how the movie made the translation from the book and was surprised to see there are a ton of long clips available on the net. can practically piece the whole movie together.

saw enough of the movie that way to where I don't feel like I need to see it, having read the book already. but it looks like the movie was really well done.

It's a movie that leaves you feeling a little deflated even though the ending is somewhat optimistic.

Bleak. Dark. Insightful.
The "humans as meat" bits are nasty.

The book is very uplifting. Even in the darkness of a apocalyptic event, the kid found human kindness and someone to trust.

True, although I still wouldn't call it "very uplifting".

The story gives some insight to what humans might have gone through about 70,000 years ago when the entire world population was reduced to about 15,000, due to the Toba Supervolcano Event. And back then, they didn't even have canned food to rely on.
