Are Audi questions allowed
I need help with an Audi quesiton, but I haven't found an Audi forum that's as active as this one. I have an Audi TT that came with run-flat tires and no spare. It's got a space for a spare, but I'm told no spare, donut or otherwise exists for the car as it was designed around the run flats. Does anyone know if the collapsible Porsche spares will fit this car? I mean it's all about lug nut spacing and brake clearance, right?

TTs are Golf-based, so I'd guess you'd be better off checking that angle.

The Audi products are 5x112 or 5x100 bolt patterns and use a 72.6mm center bore. Porsches are 5x130 bolt pattern so they won't bolt on.
There's a couple of good sites to try, my preference is QuattroWorld.com. It's an offshoot of the old AudiWorld site but in a format that the users prefered. Just celebrating it's one year anniversary. Some of the regional forums are better than others, so that part will depend on where you live. But the model specific forums can get pretty robust and can answer a lot of your questions. The TT forums can get pretty lively at times. |

It's still pretty active. Rich |
The car definitely came with a spare.

I go to Audizine.com sometimes too. |
You may want to join one of the quattro lists at audifans.com. I use the S-Car list a lot for my S6 Avant. A lot of very serious DIYers on those lists.
Good luck. --- Tom '75 targa |

I own a 2004 VW R32. It came without a spare -- it came with a can of stop-leak & a compressor. I read on a VW Vortex forum that an Audi TT spare would fit in the spare tire well of the R32, because the R32 is essentially a TT platform. I purchased a TT spare it did indeed fit into the space beneath the carpet in the luggage area. Problem is, the spare will only fit on the rear because the R32 front brakes are too large. So if I get a flat in front I will have to change 2 tires, but at least I now have a spare.
So at one point TTs must have had spares, because I bought one. Hope this info helps. |
This should be in OT.

Is the Audi black? If it is...well...you know...
