Razor scooters are cool......when you're 8 years old!!!!

Its something I've been noticing more and more lately...adults on those dorky scooters. Anybody else seen this? Maybe its an urban thing.

During this morning's commute I saw a guy on the subway carrying his Razor as we exited the train. He was a 30-something dressed in business casual, dockers, loafers...probably headed to his job in financial services or publishing. If you want to carry some wheeled transportation for the street while on the commuter train, get a folding bicycle...that makes sense.

When I see an adult using one of these scooters as surface transport, I want to say "here's a hat to go with your scooter"

Ok, rant over.

I have a friend who blew the motor in his MR2 Turbo last fall, hasn't found time to build a new one. Rides a razor scooter around town to get places. Work, bars, etc. He's also about 5'2" tall, and asian.

F'in hilarious.

Just bought my 9 yr old a Pro model Razor. Arrived via UPS yesterday, and I got the 1st ride (you know because some assembly was required) I had to do a safety run. Heck they are fun I steal it from him all the time.

When skating...you can pretend that you're Tony Hawk. He's 41 now, and still rips up the half pipe.

Who do you pretend to be when you're a grown man kicking down the street to the office on your Razor?

I'd rather ride a skateboard than one of those scooters.

Not a razor, but one with 6" tires. Works great for keeping up with my kid while she rides her tricycle/ bike with training wheels to the park. She is too slow for my bike and to fast for walking.

something just popped into my head. When I was 5ish, I had a kick-n-go. Those things were cool, much cooler than the razor.

My kids have the Go-Peds with little 50cc (?) motors and 6" wheels. Good for cruising around the hood going to friends house.

First time I tried it, the front tire was a little low and a sharp turn caused me to wipe out. Fortunately, I had only gone about 10'....

They aren't that bad. Our kids have them. When they get tired of rollerblades, skateboards and rip-sticks (which are impossible to do!) they ride those.

As for adults using them, no opinion.

LOL, a kick n go! I once jumped a friends' into a pond when I was about 8. Nearly drowned trying to get it out, but never did. I was in deep shyte that day. Probably got my mouth washed out with soap, and I can't recall if there were any further activities with said friend after that. I'll guess no.

Unless you have good ninja skills, those tiny wheels are down right dangerous on all but the smoothest pavements.

I didn't know what a Razor was so I looked it up and yeah guay.

There's a guy here I see in the summer full business suit, helmet cruising the sidewalks and plus 15's on a segway. He's probably got the only one in the province, but everytime I see him, only one thought: what a douce...
