..... pie crust in tube from walmart. Hormel pepperonis, mozzarella and provolone cheese, hunts tomato paste, olive oil(good stuff). Coat skillet with olive oil( using paper towel to even out, break open dough & roll out with hands, it will be square shape, coat hands with flour, place in skillet gently place hands and take up shape of container, cut off square pieces with knife and place on bottom, drizzel olive oil inside crust , turn on burner( about 7) & preheat oven to 400, when dough starts to bubble take fork and perforate crust to let air out smooth paste out and start layering cheese & pepperonis, before putting in oven you should be able to take fork & drizzle oil behind crust and brush edges on top cook about 10min in oven

Enzo, I love it! thats a good start. Buy a pizza stone and drop the Sargento and the Hunts. Buy fresh or block mozzarella(Polly-o is great) and canned whole peeled tomatoes. Lightly blend the tomatoes and hand grade the mozzarella. Stone on the bottom rack of your oven heated to at least 500. You will be floored by the difference. I make dough from time to time but usually just buy it from the local Italian Pasta store down the road. I've been cooking pizza for 30 years and was adding all kinds of toppings trying out different stuff. Now its just the classic Margherita for me......

think, next time i'll try these ingredients for a margherita pizza as suggested... One 14-ounce can peeled whole San Marzano tomatoes, drained
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano, crumbled 1/4 cup plus 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil Coarse sea salt and freshly ground pepper 2 pounds buffalo mozzarella, thinly sliced 32 large basil leaves, torn into pieces

Love homemade pizza!
Great idea with the skillet Enzo (fast and easy - fantastic); but Monza's pizza stone and grating your own cheese really would tickle your taste buds even more ![]() If any of you guys have a bread maker, you can 'cheat' like me...from time to time when the kids (big and little) nag enough I use the bread maker to make pizza dough. Biggest complaint is it can't make enough at once if the kids want cold homemade pizza for breakfast (oh wait....that's me who wants cold pizza ![]() Problem for us is that usually the bread maker is otherwise occupied making bread.... |

there aren't any pizza places near me but Pizza Hut, terrible..... so I wanted to see if I could make one using wal-mart ingredients in same time ... if it would be better, it sure was, the pics didn't do it justice, course a friend I sent pics to said " looks like its been eaten twice", of course he eats sardines out of a can, with mustard on top chased with a beer, LOL
