Phiten Titanium Products?
Folks,
As I continue to struggle with bad shoulders, knees, back, and normal muscle aches from exercise I have been looking for products that might help ease the pain. I was talking to a guy in my gym the other day who swears by his Phiten titanium bracelet - saying it made him feel more balanced, relaxed, and helped reduce muscle pain. He has since bought bracelets for his entire family including young son and daughter. I noticed a lot of professional athletes are sporting these things but again they are most likely paid to do so. From a quick internet search it appears none of these products have any sort of medical/professional validation and are very likely just a fad. I going to give it a try regardless, I can think of worse ways to blow $30, but thought I would ask these parts if anyone has experience (good/bad/indifferent) with these things. Thanks, David http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1268758673.jpg |

Those type of things (different brands) have been in sailing-gear stores for decades. ...supposed to help keep people from getting seasick. ..an acupressure thing, I believe. iirc, more like $3, not $30

Hmm, over the years, what sort of snake oil type products/devices have helped with pain/whatever ails you? Copper bracelets Magnetic bracelets now titanium bracelets. I'm sure there have been others that I don't know about. I suspect it's purely placebo. Sort of like a magnet around your fuel line magnetically aligning your gas molecules and therefore making your gas burn more efficiently gaining you 30% more economy and 20% more hp. |

LOL, what an absolute waste of money. But hey, it's his! Spend the $30 on a nice heating pad and some reefer. There has to be some sort of utterly worthless product i can charge 30 bucks for! |
If the $30 bracelet makes you think you are fine, it's money well spent. Right?
Assuming you've seen a dr and dont have issues, it cant hurt. But you know it cant help either. |
Purely a placebo. Advil and Afghan seems more realistic.

That bracelet is cheaper on the Yamaha site.
Yamaha WR250X Apparel, Yamaha WR250X Phiten Racing Bracelet $22. |
Honestly it strikes me as a complete and total waste of the Ti.

Yes bracelet is ~ $20 at local sporting goods store and the necklace starts at $30. I'm maxing out on Ibuprofen (800mg/day), getting a cortisone shot 2x year, and lots of heat pads. When you're a wreck like me you start believing stuff like this especially when someone you know recommends it. Flame away boys ;)

Jeez...I don't know then. In that case, you may as well try it, I guess. :(

I'm sorry to hear about your heath problems, but those things look completely bogus.
The explanation on the phiten website doesn't even make sense. |
I have six herniated discs, but im still not going to spend $30 on a piece of titanium.

What works for young men doesn't work so well for older guys. I actually like regular old aspirin for joint pain.
