There are actually lots of really bad Chinese iPads based on the Android software, but the sound like they are mostly crap. I don't think I'd want a 5", maybe a 7", but the 10" iPad seems to be the perfect size for what I want it for. Cisco Systems is actually making a 7" tablet based on Android that they are going to couple with a lot of their communications audio, video and web software. I'd say that Dell and Cisco tinkering in Android is a good sign that it's here to stay. I think my phone would be great as a larger device, possibly better than an iPad if the hardware was good enough. I also like the ability to get it rooted and do more with it. |

So, the software versions were 1.0 or whatever the G1 first came with (actually, in the beginning, pre-1.0), then 1.1, and then 1.5 (cupcake), then 1.6 (donut), then 2.0 and 2.1 (Eclair and what I'm running right now) and the newest, just barely out is 2.2 (Froyo). It's supposed to support Flash 10.1. |
That Dell Streak 5 is one big ass phone......or one small tablet

7", ok, I can sort of see that. It'll be a little more portable than 10", but still plenty big for what you're getting. I think 9-10" is perfect for my use, but might be willing to consider a 7". |

My ideal device would be: Screen size (if high enough resolution) could be as small as 5" diagonal. It should have at least as fast a processor as my Droid (1 GHz), 4 to 8 GB memory, GPS, Cell Phone, WiFi, Bluetooth, be supportable enterprise-wise without any upgrade to average business enterprises, replaceable battery, expandable data storage, 8 megapixal camera with LED flash and 18 degree wide angle lens, Unlocked GSM for Europe/Verizon capable for the States, and no heavier than 6 ounces, no thicker than .700 inch. |
