A Hundred Years Ago
A hundred years ago Wallmart and their current policies would have been consider the paragon of a business with a Progressive labour policy. During the 1920's Henry Ford had his Goon Squad go in and drag people off the toilette to put them back on the line...Sweat shops with child labour were the norm...So Americans have gotten SOFT...and this easy labour policy is going to go away soon. Americans are going to have to do some real work again...a days work for a days pay...
Otherwise after the govt goes BK you can all fking starve....

Starve??? There's always cannibalism. I figure turn about is fair play. I mean, bureaucrats have been eating us alive for many years...

Yea, because anything besides making 10 year old children work in textile mills 10 hours a day for pennies is soft.

......and with progression to protect the working man off the street, comes the race to make our lives as comfortable as one can get from robotic carpet cleaners, dishwashers, automatic transmissions to the infamous fastfood drive-thru. And it will go on Tabs, until the world of robotics a generation or two ahead of us will be perfected and make our lives more lazy. With that I betcha you CANNOT WAIT until the "orgasmatron" is perfected for your living room!? So, no, we will not go back to 12-hour days, sweat shops, child labor and the likes of Henry Ford. Hell of a statement Tabs, "Americans are going to do some real work again" Did you know Tabs we are the hardest working people on the planet!
Get back on that Tabby's Doom and Gloom game and spin again old boy and try to enlighten us with something more optimistic in the furture next time. Thanks |

I long for those heady days. It's just so damn difficult to be an effective robber-baron in the current business-labor-regulatory environment.

Is this the human equivalent of Kobe beef?
Beer fed, never exercised, fork tender.

IIITTTT'S BACON !!!!!!
Now go back to PARF, please. Your opinions are just that. Everyone believes that there world view is correct and infallible, and everyone goes out looking for ''evidence'' that proves the case. From a certain perspective, everyone is right. Sort of. That is why we have PARF. It is a PC place where everyone gets to be right, and everyone thinks that they are just that little bit more correct than everyone else. Meanwhile, back by the rivers of Babylon... many would work, and weep, as they remember Zion. Was there ever an Eden, Adam, or is life really just what you make it ? One thing is for sure, though. WHen the going gets weird, the weird turn pro. So, How high, How high master, do you want me to jump ? |

without this, a middle class, and therefore a previously unimagined prosperous United States, would never have developed.
