I want to free my 3GS running the 3.1.3 from the stock OS... I want tethering back.

So is it possible? I read yay and nay? Is there a good forum?

4.0 is rumored to be out in a couple of months and hopefully a jailbreak method will be discovered.

Not to hijack this thread, but would there be any advantages to updating my jailbroken iPod Touch (1st gen) from 3.0 to 3.1.2? If so, how (where) can I get the 3.1.2 update since that's not available on iTunes anymore?

...For now anyway. Give it time. They'll figure out a jailbreak eventually. Looks like I'll have to wait as well unless I can locate a 3.1.2 update file somewhere...

That was my plan... was trying to find a way to backdate... Haven't had much luck...

Was kinda wanting tethering so I could have my laptop to help answer the questions and navigate a fun rally on the 17th...
