ESPN Analyst, Kornheiser, Advocates Hitting Cyclists...Lance Hits Back!

Today, Tony Kornheiser openly advocated running down cyclists. Lance Armstrong has been on a tear, ripping Kornheiser a new one via Twitter. Now it seems every few seconds, someone more twitters their ire for Kornheiser.

D.C. Sports Bog - Lance Armstrong takes on Tony Kornheiser

I think he should be yanked off the air for a while. I'm certain Lance has the power to encourage ESPN to do as much.

dd I know you're a rider so you already know the score.

Cyclists are afforded the SAME rights as a motorists in, as far as I've been able to ascertain, every state in the Union.

It is, however, a two way street. Cyclists need to strictly adhere to the rules-of-the-road, with no exceptions.

4,000lb car vs. 19lb bike is a loser for the cyclist EVERY time.

ANYONE who advocates using automobiles in a malicious manner against cyclists should be called out on it, every time.

Good reminder for all concerned.

I would mow them down if i could just find any here.

They painted those STUPID bike lanes all over the city and no one uses them, but now all of our previously 2 lane roads are ONE LANE roads, like they were in the 60s! But with triple the volume.

I speak for millions of motorists when i say, get a different hobby.

In DC we have the maniac bicycle couriers. They are out of control. Wrong way on streets, cutting off motorists and pedestrians. If you can dream up an illegal or rude behavior, they do it here.

Unfortunately, my will to survive is too strong.

Yesterday, I was almost mowed down by a City of LA parking enforcement car that decided it would cut me off to get a parking space.

Whatever, I thought, L.A.'s broke, so a lawsuit would be pointless.

Yes, repeated shtick to a sub-intelligent audience. Take your chances toward someone substituting shtick as gospel.

I was an avid cyclist well into my 30's, until injuries kind of curtailed it for me (really hoping to get back into now, in later middle age). I logged 150-200 miles a week for a couple decades, not years. In other words, "been there, done that..."

Nowadays, I find this new generation of militant cyclist to be the most annoying ass holes on the road. I have fantasised about buying something like an old H1 Hummer, just so I can mow down as many as possible in one pass.

Fluck 'em. They have become the scourge of backroads and city streets wherever they ride. On the backroads, they ride willy-nilly four, five, six abreats, blocking the whole damn lane and refusing to move over. In the city, they split lanes, scratching the hell out of cars in the process. They run red lights, ride on the sidewalk (often the wrong way), wreaking havoc wherever they go.

It's all about this new militant attitude. The worst seem to be the downtown fixie riders with the tats and ear rings. They seem to relish pissing people off, then vanishing in traffic. I think if I ever saw one crushed under a car, I would buy the driver a beer.

The problem with that is the part that involves me coming to LA.

I do not enter communist enclaves, sorry.

But if you want your ass kicked and your bike tossed in a dumpster, feel free to come visit me in America any time you want!

Haahhahahahahahahahahaha

Seriously, your militant little attitude here is exactly the reason people spit on you spandex clad nitwits when they drive by you.

And where/when did I display a militant attitude? And spit? More like beautiful women blowing kisses and well-heeled men nodding stern approval.

I would say that welcoming people to "try that with me" is pretty militant, don't you think Comrade Duck?

PS: Lighten up, seriously. You ARE getting worked up and militant, whereas i am just having a little fun with you.(paybacks for the fun you had with me last week. )

PSS: The lads smiling at you as you pedal by in your spandex are probably not smiling for the reasons you'd want men smiling at you.

Who mentioned as their opening contribution to this thread they wanted to "mow down" cyclists.

Militant...

Once again, you are a victim of your own sputum.

I said if i could FIND ANY i'd mow them down, because these damn bike paths are painted everywhere and have massively increased congestion...and no one uses them.

It's got nothing to do with bikers. I used to ride a bike to work in my 20s and did all through my teen and kid years. I've been hit by a car on a bike a couple times. People are idiots.

But i still hate bike paths!

PS: It suddenly occurs to me that i have been ran over or hit by a car 5 times in my life. WTF, OVER!!!!
