It will get good. I've seen some of the later scripts, but if I told you anything, I'd have to kill ya. Maybe HughR would know, it's an ABC show but I don't think he gets to Hawaii much and besides, he'd have to kill you too. The "Mouse" doesn't mess around..

west coast wont/shouldnt read this until afterwards.. lol, but i get that the traps were set by claire, but the leader claimed she had been infected and turned bad, but it didnt look like it when she saved Jin.

I agree about the traps, but Claire did seem a little disturbed when Jin called her name, almost the same look my neighbor's dog gives me when I call her...that look of "how do you know my name????"

So Claire replaced the French woman. i.e. Pregnant woman comes to Island, had baby, goes insane, sets traps to catch/kill people. Interesting that in the alternate timeline where 815 didn't crash that Ethan is in LA.

overall, pretty boring episode. I'm sure it will get better, but last night just seemed like filler.

I find it odd taht in the alternate timeline, Ethan is in LA. Because in the scenario where 815 did crash, he was already on the island (he was one of the first people Ben orders to go to the wreckage when they see the plane breakup overhead).

So is this alluding that, in the alternate timeline, not only did 815 not crash on the island... but the island doesn't exist at all?

it makes a little sense because in the alternate timeline, the island is under water. So we know it did exist at some point. (Remember the underwater scene with the statue foot - and the shark...

Desmond was also on the island when the plane crashed too (he actually caused the crash) but in the alternate timeline, Desmond is on the plane.

Not a lot happening on the entire "Lost" series, or "biggest loser" or frankly any of the network shows.

Cant see why so many people waste time watching crap like this. History channel, Discovery, NatGeo, top gear and so on. There are good shows on television but rarely on the networks.

There's very little on the big networks worth watching. I missed this for years until delving into a boxed set and got caught up. I'm with you on biggest loser, my wife watchs it all the time....I can't stand that ****.

Didn't it seem like Ethan knew a little too much about Claire....36 weeks, 3mm, etc? The show typically hasn't jumped ahead just 5 minutes at a time... It was like he just walked in and knew all about her. Weird or bad editing?

Those cops looking for Kate gave up pretty easily.

wow. i think just the opposite. there's too much happening. they instituted flash sideways for godsakes. that's the fun of this show... to try and put the puzzle together and figure out what's going on. I think it's a great show... and with DVR, I can start watching at 9:20 and never see a commercial. Good stuff. I'll miss it when its over.

Seems to me that there are a lot of subtle things going on here. We know that the people in the temple are lying to the 815ers because they are the ones infected, as was shown by their transformation with regards to Rousseau. They fear Sayid for some as yet unknown reason. the testing that they did only allowed Sayid to exhibit pain, where they seem incapable (no real consequence to getting hit with a ton of rocks or being shot). They followed the orders of Jack to step aside when he wanted to see their leader. They need all the 815ers to be together for some reason, but they won't stop the 815ers from leaving.
As Ed T pointed out, Claire has replaced Rousseau as a wildcard. Claire gave Jin the same look Rousseau did when he called her name.
I'm still not sure what to make of the alternate timeslide.

Ethan in LA makes perfect sense.

Let's go through the "alternative" timeline.
1977, the bomb goes off, triggers the massive electromagnetic anomaly, and the Island is destroyed (we see it on the bottom of the ocean, it's gone). Everyone currently on the Island dies.
The women and children were transported OFF the Island before this happened. that would include Ethan, Charlotte, Miles. Ethan took the name Godspeed because his mom was with Horace before they left, after his (Ethan's) father was killed.
Eloise Hawking, Charles Whitmore, Ben all all dead (drowned). It's safe to presume that Richard Alpert, the Others, and possibly Jacob/Nemesis are dead, unless they have some particularly powerful supernatural abilities.
Daniel Faraday is not born (Eloise was pregnant at the time of the Incident).
Penny Whitmore is never born , since Charles is dead.

Desmond Hume never goes to the Island, since he cannot enter the race run by Whitmore, and wouldn't anyways (no Penny).
The freighter team never travels to the Island.
The French scientists presumably die in the ocean instead of being stranded on the Island. The transmitter is gone, so no numbers being sent, and no French message.
Hurley is lucky because he's never encountered the numbers, but he still won the lottery.

Jack and Desmond never meet (at least the way they did at the stadium), since Desmond isn't training for the race.

Now, why is Hurley on the plane? His reason to be in Australia was directly caused by the numbers. Is it the same "timeline" need that let him win the lottery, and so he decided to go out there for the heck of it?

Now, there's another problem. Despite all of the "troublemakers" being dead (Charles, Eloise, Daniel, people who caused various interactions and been on and off the Island), it's safe to presume that the entire world knows about the Island. Not only was there an atomic blast in the ocean, but boatloads of women and children arrived somewhere, saying "we left our husbands on this Island, we were doing research that no one knows about, go save them!" Eventually, knowledge of the Dharma group (and likely Hanso and DeGroot and the Ann Arbor connection) would be well known. Someone somewhere would eventually go hunting for the Island, and find it on the ocean floor.

So, what have I missed?

The only error that I've found so far is that (it's presumed) that John Locke died, or was going to die, when he went out the window. Jacob touched him, and seemed to bring him back. However, Jacob should be dead at that point, so why is John alive to be on Flight 815? Also, he wouldn't have encountered Kate as a child, and therefore wouldn't have bought her the lunchbox that played so closely into her back story. He would have encountered Sawyer, since that happened in 1976 when he wrote his letter.

I hear ya on the Lock problem. I guess Jacob didn't bring Locke back to life... but it did seem that way.
And how does the lunchbox play into Kate's back story? I remember Jacob giving it to her, but I don't recall the significance of it.
