Military Auto Insurance?
Our Son now has his CB home base in Gulfport MS and wants to take his car back with him. He is going to be getting his own auto insurance for the first time. I have been looking around and see many companies offer coverage for the Military but is there one company which is better or are they pretty much all the same? Or who should he stay away from.
Thanks

USAA is great...not as cheap as they used to be but the customer service is spectacular.
He should also avail himself of their banking services...get him started now on saving at least 10% of his pay, using direct deposit. BTW, if your son ever has a question concerning the Navy, detailers (he'll know the term, I was one for a tour) or what his next step should be, please have him contact me. I am good friends with some really fine Navy Chiefs, both active duty and retired...they'll know the 'Gouge". If he is not on the "gouge train", he's going nowhere.

(It works here, but not in the previous post.) Thanks, Tom

One more vote for USAA. I use it for ALL of my insurance and banking needs. At Home deposit!! I'll never have to set foot in a bank again!!!! Automatic bill pay means I never have to sit down and pay bills. AND if you play your accounts just right you can "hide" money from the prying eyes of Uncle Sam.

USAA for me, over 40 years. They are actually like a mutual insurance company so every years after you have been with them for a while you get a refund if they have a good year. Customer service is excellent and in many situations they will just have you go ahead and have the repairs done at a USAA approved body shop for car repairs. Their rates are also very competitive. I've had all my cars, boats, homes, jewelry rider, umbrella policy with them and have ZERO issues. Also have checking and banking.

USAA all the way. Been insured with them for 50 years, first under my Dad's policy then my own since 1967. Great Company.

USAA for me. For mortgages as well as for auto and homowners insurance. Their banking and credit cards are good as well (but a local credit union is also good for those). Used them for the last 20 years.

Our Son just got in yesterday and we are getting the car switched into his name, he just setup an account with USAA and purchased the auto insurance. That was cheap and easy, how do I get this kind of deal or is it because its in the state Mississippi and not Michigan?
Thanks for all the help!!

Anyone who was honorably discharged from any branch of the US military regardless of rank is eligible for USAA membership. If you are an honorably discharged veteran, call them and get a quote for your cars, house, etc etc. They may or may not be the cheapest but I don't think you can beat their service.
