it is if you can get people to sell to you for one tenth of it's worth like the "we'll buy your broken gold" tv douchebags are trying to do.

Am I the only one insulted by commercials that say, "and there may never be a better time to buy?"

Other precious metals (Brass and Lead) are probably a better investment.

The last time gold was worth this much, it took people 30 years to get their money back.

Based off the number of people trying to get others to buy gold, I'd be skeptical...

I have a beam of alloyed titanium in my basement.

If WWIII ever hits and we need to start cranking out more fighter jets, I'm set.

Yeah. Fillings out of the teeth of a corpse who won't care...'cause they're a corpse. Otherwise...

I've been buying it for 25 years. Do you think I should stop?
But I have stopped selling any of the .900-.999 rounds I get. Portifolio diversifying a bit.
I'd like spot to go up another $50 before selling any of the karat gold. We don't have tv so I can't comment on the commercials. I am curious as to what they are paying.

Now is the right time to buy gold like 2007 was the right time to buy real estate.

Duh.

Gold. The next bubble to burst.

I keep telling my friend who has invested in paper gold (no actual gold on his person) to get out before it is too late. He laughs at me.

Funny, but I recently got back from a scientific conference where I learned that some folks in Europe were considering using a lead-gold mixture (called lead-gold eutectic or "LGE") as a liquid target material for neutron spallation. After all, there are lots of neutrons in lead and gold and it is much less toxic than the liquid mercury that we use.

In the end, the amount of gold they needed would cost over 30 million Euros, so they are pursuing other options.

But people expect to pay a premium for a new car and for it to depreciate like a rock. The opposite is the case with gold. Not that it always has to go up. But when it's at an all-time high is kind hard to argue is the best time to buy it.

Funny that I just watched several interviews about gold, then read this thread. The census is Gold is turning bearish against a stronger dollar. Spec is that it should hit 800 or so at the bottom. Personally, my readings suggest silver is only slightly into a bull market, and should retreat to around 15. Silver has more applications in electronics, cat converters, etc. I will probably buy lbs of silver and sit on it for a few years. Caveat,,,,,,I only repeat the information I can glean out of many different 'Experts', but I'm satisfied my decision on silver is right for me.
