I am increasingly with the camp who does not really care. (Although this thread reminds me I should check my reports for accuracy and fraudulent activity soon.) Chasing FICO is for people who plan to go into debt and stay in debt. However actually having BAD credit, as opposed to minimal credit history but nothing negative, can be a real problem in certain situations such as trying to obtain a mortgage (even with manual underwriting intervention) or even applying for a job or basic home utilities.

No clue what it is now. A couple of years ago the numbers were great. I haven't changed anything by keeping a balance on the credit card I use or taking out any loans. No missed payments on anything so I guess it's still great.
