Need high quality heat gun - any advice

I have a customer that uses heat guns in his operations. They currently use Milwaukee, but keep burning out the heating elements. They would like to invest in a more commercial brand, but are concerned with the weight and size of the commercial brands since much of the workforce is female.

Anyone have experience with heat guns?

My FIL's company uses the Milwaukee heatguns on a daily basis and they are not treated gently. Many of the guns have been in service for 3 - 5 years. When I've seen his burn out, it was usually do to the operator putting the nozzle too close to the work, which forces the heat back into the unit and fries it. What are they being used for?

I've never used anything but Milwaukee and they've been almost indestructible. Mine get dropped off of ladders 2-3 stories up, used for 100s of hours, etc. I've seen the plastic crack on them but never stop working. Don't know what to tell you but I'm also curious of the application here.

I've had this one for 25 years, and it has been used and abused. Industrial strength. It was made by Master Appliance Corp. in Racine WI. Model HG501-A, 14 amp, 260 - 750 degrees with a high and low switch.

Would it be so bad to buy lots of the cheap harbor freight ones and warranty them as they pass away?

Years ago I was going to buy a Steinel gun w/LEDs, etc. I happened upon a forum where info said that Sears Craftsman gun was actually a Steinel. I went to Sears and sure enough right there on the data plate was Steinel's name. 'Saved a good $80.

What Mr Garfield said. If they are burning up, you are using it wrong.
