Bud Selig has been incredibly clear on this point: not until Rose tells the truth and publicly apologizes.

When Rose was banned from baseball, he claimed he didn't gamble on baseball.

Then, a few years later, he needed money, so he wrote a book and admitted that he did gamble on baseball, but not on his team.

Then, a few years later, he needed money again, so he wrote a book and admitted that he did bet on his team, but never against it.

Ever few years his story changes and he admits a little more. He needs to hold a press conference with Selig and outline exactly what he did. Only then should he be re-admitted.

Unless he dies, then he gets in that way too.

Pete Rose is never getting into the HOF. He's just about done with his normal eligibility. Once his normal eligibility is exhausted, he has to get voted on by the veterans committee, and they hate his hustlin' arse.

Pete Rose is a liar and a cheat.
He first said he didn't gamble on baseball at all.
Then he eventually said her bet on baseball but not on his own games.
He said that many times.
Then he eventually came out and said yes, he bet on his own games but didn't influence the outcome for $$$. he's still lying. He threw games for money.

If lying and cheating are caracter qualities you admire .....well...............
Let's just say I strongly disagree. He deserves no admiration at all.

I'd rather see a mediocre ball player of high character in the hall of fame than a better ball player who has no morals.
