Anyway; back to your (correct) observations...I would think that part of the reason is that older Aussie women look just that - OLDER...more than that a whole lot of them behave OLDER...they have old views; are worn out and cranky and really don't take care of themselves. Take a look round your local shopping centre. Plenty of examples of frumpy, grumpy, overweight older women out there blaming their men for their demise....

Not all are like this of course...my Mum's family full of sisters were/are the most gorgeous set of older women...contemporary thinkers who took/take great care of themselves...they are FUN to be around (those who are left :( )...and their respective husbands absolutely ADORED them...to see them altogether at an 'event' when they were dressed to really impress was just breathtaking...those who are left are still breathtakingly beautiful.

There are definitely some non frumpy, non grumpy older women out there...usually they are 'taken' or don't want to be - most older single ladies I know reckon the available men out there are all just LAME...:D

Couldn't agree with you more Lisa. :)

lisa_spyder 04-22-2010 06:57 PM

Snipey....you're showing your age ;)...

I know HEAPS of sensational looking gals in their 40s here and some in their 50s...but OMG I know and see a whole lot more who look and act at least 10 years older than their years. If I ever feel the need to "let myself go" like this I'm gonna use just one bullet - on me!!! I'm lazy enough (and too busy to self pamper) as it is now...relying heavily on good genes for the moment ;)

I was referring to a decade or so up - a lot of guys in their 50/60s here end up with Asian ladies rather than going fishing in the pool of frumpy 50s Aussie women...but I know some horror stories too about these particular 'race relations'...a few of the 50s guys we know who have scored themselves a blushing Asian bride have been badly burned too...

m21sniper 04-22-2010 07:41 PM

I try to hide my age by draping myself in young chicks. ;)

Gogar 04-22-2010 07:55 PM

My last two um . . . lady um . . friends have been 23 and 22, respectively. And, unlike Bill I gotta say i don't really find it fufilling in very many . . . . um . . . arenas. A few, yes.

It does work pretty well some of the time, though; as I am very childish and immature.

It just depends on what you want out of a "relationship." If it is just sex, then sure, find the youngest/hottest you can and have at it. I've found however that there are plenty of 40-somethings who not only are a handful in the sack, but you can also have a conversation with them and have some common ground.

Just my personal bias, but I think the 50 year old guys chasing the 20-somethings is just ridiculous. One doesn't really need to wonder why they're still chasing 'tang at that age, and you also have a pretty good idea why the 20-something is interested.

But everyone gets to live their own lives. Seems that most people at some point actually want something a little more stable in a relationship, and want some shared experiences and cultural reference points. But some don't. Ymmv.

Todd, as my Mother, the brightest person I have come across so far, once told me, "Toby, sooner or later, you have to get out of bed and talk to them." Turns out, the hottest women I have encountered have all been plenty smart.

Now that, is a thing of beauty, no substitute for youth and athleticism

lisa_spyder 04-22-2010 09:15 PM

Tobra...and 'uncluttered looks"...she is a natural beauty and in that pic appears so graceful and lithe...and at ease with herself. Personally I think the most beautiful of girls are the ones who you can see are truly comfortable in their skin...

And funny; my mother used to say the same to me about some of the guys I dated :p! I dated very few in my late teens and 20s who were around my age anyway...just got tired of the 'all balls no brains stuff'... can't tell you without lots of censorship the sorts of things my Dad used to say about some of my boyfriend choices early in the dating game!

Tobra 04-22-2010 09:21 PM

My Dad scared the heck out of guys that would come around wanting to date my sis. My brother in law, who is a fine man, was married to my sister for several years prior to calling him by his first name.

I know women that are very mentally stimulating. I am currently friends and could easily be dating 2 very wonderful, mature, professional women. One is a world class fencer and has a masters degree. The other is a world class Ivy League scientist, has a double doctorate, and a Heckler and Koch fetish. :D

While both are pretty, particularly for their age, neither of them look like this:

Which is where i run into trouble.

I constantly hear that from young women who are actively seeking out older men.

This guy is into younger women...

This guy as well.

Rumor says both drop their wives when they start "showing their age."

Larry just dropped his.

There are some very pretty Aussie women in their 40s. I was talking to this one just tonight. She's a Sidney girl:<br>

(she is not my girlfriend or romantic interest, so there is no reason to criticize her trolls).
you stay the **** away from my city snipe. The last thing we need is a super STI breakout.

Erakad 04-23-2010 05:28 AM

Ok, admittedly late on the thread, but give me an effing break! I think she's hit the rock bottom of narcissism. Jeez, if she's afraid it will hurt her virgin body, who cares, get over it.

Must have been a slow news day on Fox.

OBTW, raise the flags and celebrate....after 8 years on Pelican, I hit 600 posts. Who wants to come over and toast???

Yeah, like i'd fly half way around the world for a 40 something....

That's sure as hell not happening.

Langers 04-23-2010 06:16 AM

Interesting that you challenged the geography rather than the assertion that you're a disease ridden man whore.

m21sniper 04-23-2010 06:17 AM

You didn't challenge any of the things i said to you in the PM i sent you the other day either, mate.

I sent them in a PM so i wouldn't have to muck up a thread telling you to go .......... yourself. :)

Perhaps you can follow my lead. I am sure Todd and Z man would appreciate it.

Tobra 04-23-2010 06:57 AM

when you said STI I thought you were talking about a hotted up Subaru

m21sniper 04-23-2010 07:09 AM

He's probably just in out of the field from a day of banging Kangaroos doc, don't confuse him. ;)

porsche4life 04-23-2010 09:32 AM

Snipe.... I would remind you that.... SYDNEY Australia.... Is spelled different than my name SIDNEY....

Regarding the pole vaulter.... I'd hit.... Then again... I'm chasing a 17yr old of my own right now.... Looks sorta like that girl too....

Be jealous men....

Me too.

I guess there could be implications for a Subie owner to say, "I've got an STI." :D
