Peeling that onion back a little more, I stopped by there (few times) curious as to what car was making the chassis dyno scream. You could hear it 1/2 block away. I don't remember who i talked with - could have been Joel actually. He asked if you're so interested in what goes on here, would you like a position as a technician (he knew where I worked, what I did). I said.................I'm all ears. So basically some guys had left for 'other ventures' and he needed some good people. BUT his pay plan was not so good. He wanted the technician to be a service writer too, but the pay was all flat rate. I thought it over as I saw it would be a huge opportunity for me - but I could not get past how much non-working time I would have to commit..................and not be compensated for.

I told him I would love to come there, learn and succeed - but I was losing on his pay plan. Too much customer / admin time that was not paid. I would be willing to discuss alternate options. Our conversation ultimately went nowhere as he was unwilling to move off from this. My experience was he was trying to get 2 birds for one, cheating me right off of the bat. I agonized over this for a week..... but did not take the bait. I do sometimes wonder if I did work for him where I'd be. But I could not compromise my integrity like that, I would have resented him / them from the start.

really sorry to read this thread. I lived in Arlington for quite a long time and back in the day Autothority did some great work for me on a 951. The chip was great as was their attitude. The go to shops were Intersport, IMA, Autosport Systems group. Seems hard to maintain a reputation for a long time
