Does finding a house, with a garage...

with a dedicated sink, toilet and shower make for a killer setup? What if the garage is oversized, well lit, has lots of storage, room for a beer fridge, and electrical outlets all over, even in the ceiling? How about when you find that the resident in the other half of the duplex used to have a 911?

I think we have found our new rental home

Naturally, the wash facilities are rudimentary at best, but it keeps the wifey happy when i can de-gunk myself *before* entering the rest of the house. Giant pump top bottle of Fast Orange here I come!!

Having it be $300 a month cheaper than anything else we've been looking at...doesn't hurt either.

If I get the house with 4 acres, I will build a steel building with plumbing and a bathroom...

Garage
2 car garage? Check.
Overhead storage? Check.
Separate outbuilding for even mo' storage? Check.
Lots of electrical outlets? Check.
Beer fridge? Check.
Parking in driveway for TEN additional cars (yes, really)? Check.
An additional parking space for an ELEVENTH car under a carport? Check.
Ample lighting? Check.
Heated garage? Check.
220 service? Check.

Sometimes life is good.

My days of trying to work on my 944 out on the street in SoCal because there aren't any garages available, not being able to leave to go inside to take a whiz without putting everything away, locking it up, covering the car, etc. because I don't want to get ripped off, etc. are a DISTANT FKIN MEMORY!!! And I LIKE IT!!!

Did I mention the beer fridge?

I have never had a garage. I decided that I didn't care if we lived with flattened crackwhores as flooring in the living room, I would have a garage.

I might not have 220 service in there (but i might...have to check harder), and it might not be heated...

But it's under $900 a month. We were almost paying that for our 1 bedroom crappy apartment.

Mike, my youngest uncle just built a new home in Bellaire, and he's a gear head. Let me know if you move there!
