What is the most hideous abomination on a 911?
your chance to strike a blow for freedom (or something)
|
What? No "all of the above" option?
I actually like the whale tail, probably because I grew up with posters of them on my walls in the '80s. The ducktail is growing on me though. |
Man, you left out several choices.
I don't know what sugar scoops and wire wheels have to do with each other or why they are on the same list. One was never a factory option that I've heard of and the other was a mandate. Anyway, I hope "All non-functional, cosmetic parts" doesn't prevail. ;) :) 'Cause that's what I like to do! |
hey - post what I left out
not limited to factory options your stuff always looked functional to me - if it reduces the wt. it is functional... |
Well, I never liked the slope nose, factory or otherwise. I mean, if they were going to go slope, why in the world did they keep the same bumper? At least on the continent they could have changed it.
Cabs with all manor of wings don't make a lot of sense to me. What's more, I just don't like them (with tails). So add that. Now that brings me to a cab slope. Nope. Mobey Dick don't belong on the street. (Sorry to the guys that have these, it's only an opinion.) One more: there are a lot of aftermarket wheels that are just nothing more than bling. Take a real nice 911, clean lines and all that and muck it up with some ghetto wheels and I'm lookin' the other way. A way outta there. Yeah, Playa, I'm talkin' to you. |

Remember those Testa Rossa side strakes that were around for a few years?http://images29.fotki.com/v1014/phot...005_jpg-vi.jpg

What the hell are sugar scoops?
The poll should have been a multiple select poll instead of single option. I'm not completely anti-aesthetic mods, but lots of them are bad. Anything that reduces the performance from the factory baseline like anything that adds weight (without some other compensation, like a roll bar/cage, at least there's a tangible benefit despite the extra weight), heavy wheels, bad body kits. A nice stereo is fine, but an over the top stereo that adds 100 pounds or more, no, no good at all. I'm ok with tails and aero aids on the front as long as they are functional and useful. A huge dual level tail on an early "T" would be ridiculous. The same tail on an early car with a huge engine and tires that sees the track, well, that would be ok. |

There are 2 near Seattle that have been for sale for many weeks:
The first - for $20,000 - that's right, $20,000 - a 1979 Porsche 911 with a unique color and body. Apologies if a Pelican ownes either of these: 1979 Porsche 911 slant nose wide body and this one - a 1974 for $9500 http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/cto/1717831167.html I just can't understand why these haven't sold yet????? |
My 70 S had a whale tail on it when I found it. I took it off as soon as I got it home. It was an embarassing drive home. I felt so....dirty.

Those headlights look like Eagle Talon or Mitsu Eclipse pieces. Sweeeet. Edit: Or T-Bird? |
