There is no way of knowing how many posts one has. This is done on purpose so people don't think someone with a high post count knows more than someone with a low.

I tally mine on a piece of paper and figure I have around 4800.

My account on Wayne's server got corrupted a couple of years back and when it was fixed my post count was doubled so I emailed nostatic and I emailed Z-man and I emailed Wayne to correct the error because having such a high post count was very unnerving but nobody did nothing and my post count keeps growing so I posted a thread saying that I really didn't have that high of a post count but that didn't do any good either and my post count continues to keep growing and on occasion that causes my brain to swell with intelligence to the point that I sometimes get headaches which cause me to wonder if it's really worth it.

For a guess on how valid this is, just look at dipwads post at the top of the first page. That shows and tells a LOT.

A lot of people considered knowledgeable on this board do have a high post-count,
but then again, people who don't know how to shut up have a high post-count as well...

I think my post count is pretty much your answer.... It is safe to say that more than 90% of my posts are here in OT.... Sure I know some stuff about '44s..... But I'm no expert......

my uncle once told me a certain % of what comes out of each persons mouth is BS. this percentage differs from person to person however no matter who the speaker is more talking = more BS.

not picking on anyone with this, just an interesting tidbit i picked up along the way.

Query -- if a poster posts something terribly stupid, shouldn't that user's post count drop?!?

If that were true, I know of many folks on this BBS whose post count would be in the high negative numbers.

Now I wonder if it were possible for post counts to decrease, if we all said something really, really stupid all at once, would it be possible to actually go backwards in time?!?
