My daughter Anna...

So proud of my girl.

She's graduating high school in a few weeks. Last night was the Senior Ball. She turned down offers of dates so she could have her last big night out with her girlfriends. She's smart, confident and sweet. She takes no nonsense from boys or anyone else.

She is a terrific student and declined a lot of academic scholarships to attend U.C. Davis in the fall so she can be close to home. We're really happy that she won't be too far away.

Anna has worked as a cashier 16 hours/week all through high school without ever being asked. She does volunteer work regularly. She buys her own clothes and keeps her car running with her own money. I offer to help, but she politely refuses. It's a matter of pride for her.

I honestly don't know how I got so lucky. Not sure if I we accidentally did some good parenting along the way but I suspect she was just destined to be the kind of young lady she is. I tell her every day how proud I am of her.

Great job Doc... Our oldest who is a sophomore in high school was invited to her first prom last night... As we were taking photos outside of her and her date, it occurred to me "she is growing up".. made me feel all mushy inside, sad and happy all at the same time...

Good for you! Being a good parent has it's rewards. When mine turned 14/15 I had a very frank discussion with her about what boys want. I told her that she controls the boy, not the other way around.

You have reason to be proud.
Parenting is a tough job but has it's rewards. Your daughter is a fine example.

Not surprising..children watch their parents and pickup up their core values from them.

The true test of a mans success in life is how well his children turn out in life. Money, power success don't mean much at the end of the day... When you draw your last breath it all falls away and what is left is how you were as a person and that can be reflected in how well your children turned out.

Now tell me that is "Psychobabble"

Ha! Her brother and her dad. I'm the old guy. She's thrilled about Davis. I went to grad school there. I loved it.
