Unbelievable..But strange Things Do Happnen On PPOT

Something that is just about unbelievable has happened because of the PPOT. I have posted about a spoon that I came by a few years back. The Otto Voit rifle and its belonging to a Medal of Honor winner at the Little Big Horn.

One David Voit a Great Nephew of his has found me because of that posting. I had a several hour long conversation with him about his Uncle Otto and the rifle. He told me that he had found the unmarked grave of Otto's and gotten the govt to mark it with a MOH Tombstone. That he had gotten a call from the man who I in a roundabout way got the rifle from over 20 years ago. That that call had changed his life and that he had been doing research on Otto ever since.

David had found his Uncles Discharge papers with Captain Benteen and GA Custers signatures on them. Every 4 years or so the Army would give out the papers and then the soldier would reenlist. He had further gotten a reissue of Ottos MOH. He had met and had a long conversation with the daughter of one of Ottos fellow Troopers and friend. It seems the old lady had heard her father talking about Otto when she was a child. That she had several old Indian Bear Claw necklasses and a button that was said to be taken from GA Custers coat at the LBH. Of which he said she donated to the National Monument upon her death at 99 years old. Also he had a newspaper article from the Louisville Courier about Otto being a survivor of the battle done before Ottos death in 1906. along with a letter from the man who I had gotten the rifle from. Also that he had been looking for that rifle for many years,

When I told him who I had gotten the rifle from he was floored, and knew he had to call me.

Great story, Mister Tabs.

So, are you going to gift him the weapon? Seems like there is a Karma thing happening here!

Maybe he would at least appreciate having a picture taken of himself at Otto's grave with the rifle.

maybe you should take it to the pawn stars, i but they would offer you $200 for it & you would get on TV - WOO HOO

It really should be in a museum, or returned to the Voit family
