Why, that opens up a factory Yamaha ride.

Spies is contracted with Yamaha, not Tech 3 (Colin's deal is with Tech 3), so it would make sense, especially given his performance on the satellite team. He's on track for rookie of the year, he's been on the podium and challenged for other podium positions - would better results be possible with full factory support/parts?
Stoner will be at Honda, Dovi is at Honda through '11, Hayden stays at Ducati, Rossi will be at Ducati. The only question is Pedrosa as his contract is also up, but it seems unlikely that he'd make the jump to Yamaha. A deal not being done with Suzuki two years ago was probably the best thing for Spies - could they be any less competitive this year? Last edited by deanp; 08-04-2010 at 05:02 AM.. |

Assuming Rossi will bring Burgess with him, maybe they can make the Ducati chassis something that more than just Stoner can ride.
Spies to the factory team makes the most sense or said another way, who else would be deserving of it? That leaves Edwards to make the right decision and retire. I love the guy but he just does not have it anymore.

Ducati issued a press release today, stating that neither rider has a signed contract for next year, yet. I really hope Rossi does leave Yamaha, to make room for Spies, and I'd like to see Nicky get another year on the Ducati.
We'll see... JR |

I would rather see Rossi in a Ferrari next year.

Tommy Lee still races but nicky is the GP pilot. I wonder how Rossi going to Ducati will impact Nicky's ability to get the go fast parts.

Roger Hayden is in WSBK now, but at the back of the field on an under spec bike.

I wonder if Ducati would let him run Isle of Man in 2011...
Probably not *sigh* |
