Tour de California - Anyone going to check it out?

It will be all over California, matriculating south, for eight days.

I might check out the Rock Store stage and the Downtown L.A. Crit.

Are any other Pelican cyclists going to see a stage?

I've ridden most of stage 2 so I am really into the Amgen Tour but I'm going to be out of town tomorrow. The ToC stage 2 is so close to my home but I'll be so far away. Sucks.

We are doing the "Tour of Arizona" instead this year... )

On a serious note, its a very tough bike ride, if you can handle it.

Hmmm...I wonder what could be the implications of that.

No Tour de Cali coverage on Versus today. The weather is too severe to put a helicopter or plane in the air.

That's when the real racing will start. Love to see the big name European small stage race specalist come here and use the Tour of Ca to get ready for the Tour of Switzerland. Or maybe, there will be more points and prize money for the big names to come and really race and not just use it as training. this is the stuff I can only dream of 30 years ago. Seeing the French Olympic team rip the field up a bit at Manhattan Beach Grand Prix in 84 made my year.
