Until now I had forgotten that lapse in judgment that led to me trying Zima.
Now, to go off on some arbitrary tangent...... I posted a list of beers that I don't like. If somebody else likes them, hooray for them. I'm not a beer snob, and I don't care. My list wasn't made up of beers that don't meet my high standards of elite-ness. It was just a list of beers I don't like. What is beer? Beer is all of those beverages derived from brewed and fermented grains. It is Schlitz and it is Augustijn; it is Guiness and it is Sol. And for everyone who hates PBR, there is a person who hates Three Floyds Alpha King. A person's beer preference is influenced by many things... family, peers, budget, geography, heritage, and innumerable other factors. IMO, beer snobs are just pretentious jerks. You know what? I like Miller High Life. One of my friends likes to snub me for not drinking "classy" beer. F*ck him - he drives a Buick. What are the best beers? RateBeer picks these: RateBeer Best 2010 : The People Choose The Best Beers in the World | RateBeer.com I find the list suspect, though. I've not heard of a single one of those beers, and I don't see Budweiser on the list at all. I think it was a rigged contest. |
for the record, i'll drink almost any beer, especially if it is free, EXCEPT that josef hofbauer crap. i will not, however, pay my own cash for several, including budweiser (anything) or coors (anything). i'll drink them, but i won't pay good money for them. miller is fine, PBR is fine.

anything beyond that and i personally prefer it comes in a 750ml bottle. wheat beers can be very good but honestly i'd reach for a sauv. blanc first given the choice. that's just me of course. |

ok. just checking. technically, most of the american swill is not really beer. in order for a beverage to be beer (again, very technically speaking), it must be made with at least 80% malted barley. most of the grain bill for your barley pops (budweiser, miller, etc.) is going to be 40% rice/corn. and then they filter it so hard that it is stripped.
